Thirlwall Castle Recreation
Final year project (2021), with the goal of using CG in the service of cultural heritage.
For this project I chose to digitally reconstruct Thirlwall Castle in Northumberland, based of depictions of what the castle might have looked like when it was originally built, as well as doing research into what materials would have been used to build it.
To the right is a sketch where I overlayed my design for the castle, based of research, over an image of what Thirlwall looks like today. This informed the model which can be seen below, created in Maya.
The textures were created in Substance Designer.
